Fibernetics Wins Best Employer Branding at the 2015 Canadian HR Awards

Fibernetics, the parent company of NEWT, was filled with feelings of joy and pride last Thursday when it was announced that the organization had won for Best Employer Branding at the Canadian HR Awards. This prestigious event took place at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto and throughout the night, 17 organizational and individual awards were handed out. Over 600 leaders within the HR industry attended this event as it recognized the dedication and accomplishments of various groups and individuals within the HR profession.

Fibernetics was ecstatic when, leading up to the event, it was announced that they were nominated as a finalist in the category of Best Employer Branding. Fibernetics was nominated alongside the Keg Restaurants, Molson Coors, Tigris Incorporated, and Traction on Demand.

The “I’m In” company mantra, which helped lead Fibernetics to win the award, was developed in June 2014 and has helped to bring the organization to new heights.

NEWT Ecstatic With Results From Customer Survey

“We need to talk”. A phrase which can create a striking sensation of fear within many individuals, however, often a conversation which is needed. It all comes down to feedback, or constructive criticism, a way in which one voice or many voices are identifying a problem that, if fixed, can lead to even greater individual or organizational success. As Bill Gates states, “we all need people who will gives us feedback. That’s how we improve”. This is the exact reason NEWT, the business division of Fibernetics, decided to conduct an anonymous customer questionnaire.

NEWT created a short survey and offered customers the opportunity to participate and give their honest feedback about the products, services, and support offered through NEWT. The survey was open and available for current NEWT clients to take for a one month period.  At the conclusion of the survey, it was determined that NEWT had received over 200 individual responses! Now the real question was, how can we better serve our customers?

The results truly speak for themselves, showing that NEWT customers are delighted with the value that is obtained through the products and services offered. For instance, 91% of customers said that they were satisfied with the services of NEWT.

And the good news didn’t stop here. NEWT, known for their excellent customer service, was delighted to discover that  97% of customers felt that their technical support representative was knowledgeable about their issue and efficiently able to solve the problem. 

As NEWT attempts to continue to grow its national presence, it was essential to determine how many clients were so satisfied with the system and services that they would suggest other business use it. The survey showed that  94% of current consumers would recommend the NEWT brand to help benefit other organizations.

The entire organization was extremely happy with the results of this customer questionnaire, however, NEWT will not stop there. As a company, we will continue to support our customers and ensure that all of their needs are exceeded.

Pickering Soccer Club Scores with NEWT

Moving to another location can present many hassles and obstacles. When relocating to a nearby location, many would assume that maintaining your current contact number wouldn’t be an issue. However, the Pickering Soccer Club learned that you can never take anything for granted in today’s day and age. Cliff Schmitt, the manager of the facilities within the club, explained the problem: “we were actually moving only 2km down the road, but weren’t allowed to keep our old number, unless we paid a fee, which caused us to start looking into what other providers could offer”.

After searching through various options, the Pickering Soccer Club found Fibernetics and their business services division NEWT, a provider that would allow them to keep their old number without charging any extra. It was important to Schmitt to have a phone system that could help enhance the efficiency of the organization because managing incoming calls was a major priority during the outdoor season. “We get thousands of calls a month, and even though the club is only open for 35 hours a week, the facilities are open much longer than that, so people being reachable after-hours is a necessity”. Giving Back Through the Backpacks for Kids Initiative

Poverty is a worldwide issue, however, little by little we can work towards diminishing this problem. Unfortunately, there are many children in foreign countries that are unable to receive a proper education because they do not have the necessary tools. Fibernetics, the parent company of NEWT, has been attempting to change the lives of children in the Dominican Republic for the past four years through their Backpacks for Kids program.

Fibernetics has a presence within the Dominican Republic with their contact centre located there and the issue of poverty is evident throughout the country. Fibernetics Backpacks for Kids fundraiser provides children with various school supplies, materials that ultimately make education accessible for these individuals. Items like notebooks, pencils, erasers, glue, and other necessary supplies were provided to 127 children. In ceremonial fashion, each child was called up to come receive their backpack filled with school supplies, and after the conclusion of the event, 250 hotdogs and refreshing drinks were provided to all of the children and their families that were in attendance. In addition, children also received a gift certificate of $1000 peso, which will help these kids purchase a full school uniform, including pants, a dress shirt and a pair of socks.

In order to properly prepare for this event, tickets were distributed to children within various neighbourhoods to determine the amount of supplies that would be needed for this fundraiser. At the end of a successful day, there were 4 children that didn’t have a ticket, however, they attended the event hoping that Fibernetics could help out. Luckily, there were enough extra supplies to ensure all of these children received a backpack, a ticket to allow them to pursue dreams of an education.

These backpacks symbolize hope, a hope for a better tomorrow, a future filled with love and opportunity. The entire organization is excited and already looking forward to next year’s event!

How did Excel go from a customer to a vendor? Let’s backtrack for a second and take a broad look at the current business world which we live in. Inventions like advanced communications systems and internet services have allowed businesses to connect quickly and effectively with their target market.
