NEWT Managed PBX Goes "On The Road" With The Desktop Softphone

Cambridge, Ontario – September 18, 2013 - NEWT is proud to announce the release of the NEWT Desktop Softphone for PC taking business communication in Canada to another level. The NEWT Desktop Softphone provides a user-friendly business phone interface on the users’ computer screen providing access to the NEWT PBX feature set. The NEWT Desktop Softphone includes enhanced features such as Visual Voicemail, allowing viewing, managing and listening to messages, as well as an Enhanced Conference Bridge that enables the secure hosting of conference calls, complete with moderator and participant access codes.

Using either the PC’s microphone and speakers, or a PC-compatible headset, the desktop handset is no longer required, and best of all, the NEWT Desktop Softphone can be accessed anywhere. With more employees on the road or telecommuting the NEWT Desktop Softphone can be used at any location that has an Internet connection. Employees out of the office are more accessible appearing to be in the office, and can utilize the full suite of features while lowering or eliminating expensive cellular long distance or roaming charges.
